Roberta Rowell Killingsworth, mother of Society leaders Bobbie Ann Killingsworth Schikowitz and Ron Killingsworth, died at her home in Mooringsport, LA, on April 16, 2007.

Born in 1924 in Jamestown, LA, she graduated from Jamestown High School in 1940. She was married to Rev. Elvin L. Killingsworth for 49 years, Mrs. Killingworth was the mother of four children, three of whom survive her. At the time of her death, she had 12 surviving siblings, eight grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

One of her siblings is Adell Rowell Tingle of Ringgold, LA, a member of the Society and the namesake of a new Louisiana iris bearing her name.

Roberta was a dedicated member of Belcher Baptist Church in Belcher, La. She had attended several SLI conventions in the past few years. Mrs. Killingsworth was buried in Mount Olive Cemetery in Sailes, La.
